Nurse Nwanna Akhere Martina is a Registered Nurse and Midwife with over seventeen years in maternal and child healthcare, and Chief Nursing Officer at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Lagos. She has assisted in the delivery of more than two hundred babies. Her nursing career began in 2009 and moved from Midwife to Nursing Officer to Chief Nursing Officer, working across Obstetrics and Gynaecology Emergency, the Labour Ward, and maternal and child health units, where she has cared for hundreds of patients, pregnant women and families. She holds a BNSc from the National Open University of Nigeria.
She organises and takes part in medical outreach programmes and community health initiatives, advocating proper antenatal and postnatal care, family health education, and access to quality healthcare information and services.
Her practice is grounded in compassionate care and evidence-based nursing.
