Grace Maternal
Foundation
A mother holding her child close, the care Grace Maternal Foundation exists to make reachable.

Help carry every mother with dignity

Giving to Grace Maternal Foundation puts antenatal care, safe delivery and the weeks that follow within reach of women the health system does not reach.

Where your giving goes

Your gift funds three areas of work. We describe them rather than quantify them: the Foundation is young, and we will not publish a figure we cannot yet stand behind.

  • 01

    Antenatal & Safe Delivery Support

Many complications in pregnancy are preventable when a mother is seen early and often. This programme focuses on connecting women to antenatal care, skilled support through delivery, and the follow-up that keeps mother and baby well.

  • 02

    Maternal Health Education

Knowledge protects. This programme puts clear, practical maternal-health education into the hands of women and their families, in language and settings that make sense to them, so that good decisions are easier to make.

  • 03

    Newborn & Postnatal Care

The days after birth carry real risk and real joy. This programme supports newborn health and a mother's own recovery, so that families begin life together on the steadiest footing we can help provide.

How we work

The Foundation works in Nigeria's waterfront communities, settlements that sit beyond the reach of the formal health system. The care it offers there is low-tech and high-trust. It travels with people who are already known and already believed, in the language mothers speak and the settings they keep.

That is also why reaching these communities costs what it costs. A visit is a journey before it is an appointment. There is the travel, over water and over difficult roads. There is the time it takes to be present often enough that a woman will speak plainly about her pregnancy. And there is the patient work of earning the trust of the families and the local voices who make any of it possible.

Giving pays for the ordinary things that add up to showing up: transport, materials, the time of the people doing the work, and the record-keeping that lets us account for it afterwards.

Governance and accountability

Grace Maternal Foundation is a registered Nigerian NGO, incorporated with the Corporate Affairs Commission under CAC No. 9660386.

Donations are received into the Foundation's own account. Card payments are handled by Paystack, a licensed Nigerian payment processor, and card details are never held by the Foundation or by this website.

How the Foundation accounts for itself

Supporters are named on the supporters wall only if they ask to be. Giving quietly is equally welcome.

Volunteer with us

We look for clinicians, educators and community organisers who can give time in the waterfront communities. Tell us how you would like to help.

Register interest

The Foundation carries the name of the founder's mother, Grace. Giving here is one of the ways that name keeps its promise.
